Celebration of Republic Day with Great Fervour at Mirza Ghalib College, Gaya

The 77th Republic Day 2026 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at Mirza Ghalib College, Gaya. The programme was graced by the Hon’ble Chairman, President, Secretary, members of the Governing Body, Principal, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students. The occasion marked the adoption of the Constitution of India and reflected the spirit of unity, democracy, and national pride among all present.

The celebration commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Hon’ble President of the college, Dr. Hafizur Rahman Khan, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, which filled the campus with a deep sense of pride and respect for the nation. Tributes were paid to national leaders in remembrance of their invaluable sacrifices in shaping modern India.

In his address, Dr. Hafizur Rahman Khan highlighted the significance of the Constitution and emphasized the importance of fundamental rights and duties of citizens. He urged students to uphold constitutional values such as equality, justice, secularism, and fraternity in their personal and professional lives.

He further remarked that despite the college facing resource constraints, under the dynamic leadership of the Secretary of the Governing Body, Shri Shabi Arfeen Shamsi, the Institution has witnessed remarkable improvements in administrative efficiency and academic standards. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to the Principal, Dr. Ali Hussain, for his dedication and tireless efforts in achieving academic excellence for the college.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ali Hussain, Principal of the college, emphasized that freedom comes with responsibility and highlighted the crucial role of youth in nation-building. He encouraged students to become responsible citizens and contribute positively to society.

The celebration also featured the singing of patriotic songs by students, which evoked a strong sense of pride, unity, and reverence for the nation. The programme underscored the values of discipline, unity in diversity, and social responsibility.

Certificates were distributed to the winners and participants of the quiz competition by the Secretary of the Governing Body, Shri Shri Shabi Arfeen Shamsi, and the Principal of the college, Dr. Ali Hussain.
