About the Department


The Department of Mathematics at Mirza Ghalib College, Gaya was established in the year 1969 with the introduction of B.sc. (Hons.) course in Mathematics. Since then the department has come a long way, M.Sc. in Mathematics was started in 2014 and this department was among the first few Department in the state to have introduced in minorities college at post graduate level. The duration of this course is four semester.

Apart from post graduate courses, the department offers the following under graduate courses.

Courses

The following courses are being administered in the department:

  • B.A. / B.Sc. (Hons) 4 Year Programme
  • M.A. / M.Sc. 2 Year Programme

The department has a cohesive group of workers in the fields of Algebra, Analysis, Applied Mathematics (Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfers, Numerical Analysis, Fracture Mechanics)Differential Geometry and are actively engaged in wide-ranging areas of research in mathematics and allied subjects. The Department has its own library to meet the requirements of P.G. students, Research scholars and faculty members. There are 1200 books in this library covering all areas study in Mathematics.
