Abdul Quadir joined in Nov, 1983 to strengthen the dedicated team. Currently the department of Economics have two dedicated faculty members as Dr. Kashif Mansoor and Mr Amresh Kumar who are constantly working the best they can for the betterment of students. The department of Economics is currently offering four year BA programme under CBCS based on NEP 2020.

Since the inception of college, the Department of Economics has been with single mind devotion to provide a sound foundation to under graduate students and fairly large numbers of the students of the department have brought glory to the department and college as well. The department proposes to study the prospects of food processing and viable industries in the region. It also proposes to study the economic consequences of the permanent shut down of Gaya cotton mill, Guraru sugar Mill and others employment generating industries. Such studies have become more important in view of the decentralised nature of planning and local resource based approach to development.
